The township of Te Anau has been built on what was once the path a an enormous glacier carving its way east across the bedrock of this southern area of land mass we now call the Te Anau basin and Fiordland. The many ice ages responsible for creating these land masses have long since retreated to the mountians, leaving behind the southern lakes and valleys.
Today the land is covered, to the west by the Fiordland Beach Forest, Lake Te Anau and to the east farmland boarded by the Takitimu Mountian Range.
All of this makes for amazing views ,fresh air and a sense of exhilaration.
